On August 2nd my family held their annual family reunion. This year was my moms sides turn to hold it, and my family decided to do a 50's theme.

I was freaking out being up on those chairs! I hate heights, even standing on a chair freaks me out.
We got to the hall at about 7:45 that morning to begin setting up for the afternoon. We started by setting up the tables and chairs and then we began hangging records and streamers from the ceiling. By the time we were done it looked great!

With as many kids as there always are you have to have games to keep them occupied. We had a balloon dart board, ring toss, musical chairs, a tug of war, and a water balloon fight (it was freaking HOT!).

After games it was time for food. We had hamburgers and hotdogs, and of course with it being so hot out we had ice cream delivered by our lovely "waitresses", my cousins, aren't they CUTE! :)
Uncle's Jim, Matt, and Jerry. Three of my moms brothers. Missing is Andy, he was there just didn't get a picture.
Uncle Marlin, married to my Aunt Joan my mom's oldest sibling, and cousin Stacie. Dylan off to the side.
Cousins Jessie, Garrett (his mom married my Uncle Matt), and Chad. Chad married Stacie in March. Congrats you two!

Papa Ray! My moms dad.
The part I love the best is being able to see all my family! I don't get this kind of oppurtunity very often and I was thrilled to have been able to make it back for this reunion. I have 16 first cousins and about 20 second cousins, and I can finally name all my first cousins! Their kids are going to take some time, there are just too many of them!

Hi Samantha! It was great to see you at the reunion! I'm glad that you were able to make it back to Kansas this summer and spend time with the family, especially your grandparents. I know it meant so much to them! The reunion was lots of fun, and you are right, it was one super hot day. Thanks again for all your help too - especially clearing and cleaning all those tables. Your pictures of the reunion turned out great. Hope to see you again real soon!
Love,
Laura
